Description :
Reporting to the Coordinator of Professional Services, the Attendant for Disabled Students provides assistance to disabled students in their participation in courses or activities. The employee assists the disabled student in their movements, providing them with the assistance required by their condition and ensures their well-being.
More specifically, but not limited to, the Attendant:
• Accompanies students to and from classes or other areas of the college;
• Assists in personal care (toileting, feeding);
• Provides in-class support;
• Provides note taking and homework assistance;
• Assists in general tasks when required;
• Assists the student integration and partakes in college activities and initiatives;
• Performs other related duties.
Other related tasks which fall within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Part-time hours in between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. based on the schedule of the student.
Start date: As soon as possible.

Profile
Qualifications:
• Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in an appropriate specialty or secondary school diploma (DES) or have a diploma or an attestation which is recognized by the competent authority;
• At least one (1) year of pertinent experience.
Conditions related to the specific position:
• Experience or training in manipulating and transferring individuals to and from wheelchairs;
• Experience in working with individuals with various disabilities;
• Good English written and oral communication skills (to be tested);
• Good French written and oral communication skills (to be tested);
• Basic Word and Excel (to be tested).
